Offshore wind will play an increasingly greater role in the production of sustainable energy and this is a wonderful development for the Northern Netherlands<\/strong>. It is also the start signal for NNOW \u2013 Northern Netherlands Offshore Wind.<\/p>\n

By 2020, 20% of energy generation in the Netherlands has to be sustainable<\/strong> and the long-term ambition is for wind energy to generate 6,000 MW<\/strong>. That puts the sector on the eve of a whirlwind development; it offers opportunities for the approximately 150 companies in the Netherlands that are active in and around offshore wind. Companies that excel in foundations, installation, logistics or maintenance. A significant part of these companies is based in the Northern Netherlands<\/strong> and in the province of Noord-Holland.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the logistics opportunities in Eemshaven and the port of Harlingen, it is hard to conceive of a better location or base. No wonder that the NOM, Energy Valley and NHN have taken the initiative to set up Northern Netherlands Offshore Wind<\/strong>, or NNOW for short. NNOW supports a cluster of companies, establishing a strong national and international position in the world of offshore wind.<\/p>\n

A solid start with NNOW<\/h2>\n

The network is open to any company in the region that is or would like to be active in offshore wind. Besides networking, knowledge exchange and the joint implementation of promotion and acquisition activities, the cluster also pays ample attention to R&D and business development and to training adequately qualified personnel.<\/p>\n

NNOW will enter into alliances with other parties to accelerate the development. At the moment, approximately 80 companies<\/a> are involved with NNOW, which has created a powerful impulse for more activity in relation to offshore wind in the Northern Netherlands.<\/p>\n

In de productie van duurzame energie gaat offshore wind een steeds grotere rol van betekenis spelen. Een goede ontwikkeling voor Noord-Nederland. En het startpunt voor NNOW: Northern Netherlands Offshore Wind.<\/p>

In 2020 moet in Nederland 20% van de energieopwekking duurzaam zijn.<\/strong> Als onderdeel van dat streven bestaat er voor de lange termijn een windenergieambitie van 6000 MW. Offshore wind staat daarmee aan de vooravond van een stormachtige ontwikkeling. Dat biedt kansen voor de circa 150 bedrijven die in ons land actief zijn met offshore wind<\/strong>. Bedrijven die vaak uitblinken in funderingen, installatiewerk, logistiek en onderhoud. Een belangrijk deel daarvan is gevestigd in Noord-Nederland en Noord-Holland<\/strong>. In combinatie met de logistieke mogelijkheden in de Eemshaven en de haven van Harlingen is een betere uitgangspositie nauwelijks denkbaar.<\/p>

Vandaar dat de NOM, Energy Valley en NHN, het initiatief namen voor het opzetten van Northern Netherlands Offshore Wind, kortweg NNOW. NNOW is een cluster van bedrijven die we willen ondersteunen bij een sterke (internationale) positionering in de wereld van offshore wind<\/strong>.<\/p>

NNOW geeft een stevige aanzet<\/h2>

Het netwerk stelt zich open voor alle bedrijven die in de regio actief zijn in offshore wind of dat willen worden.<\/strong><\/p>

Naast netwerken en kennisuitwisseling en het gezamenlijk uitvoeren van promotie- en acquisitieactiviteiten, is er binnen het cluster ruime aandacht voor R&D en business development en het opleiden van voldoende gekwalificeerd personeel.<\/p>

NNOW gaat partnerschappen aan met andere partijen om de ontwikkeling te versnellen. Momenteel zijn circa 80 bedrijven bij NNOW betrokken. Daarmee is alvast een stevige aanzet gegeven voor meer bedrijvigheid rondom offshore wind in Noord-Nederland.<\/p>
